But, as always, it’s all about the web-swinging, and zooming over New York City’s streets is an incredible thrill. Within seconds of accessing the massive map, you’ll be hooked on Spidey’s smooth motion and acrobatic flips. You’ll even get to play as Mary Jane Watson and Miles Morales in a few sneaky missions to help break up the tempo. You’ll easily spend hours soaring between skyscrapers and dashing on the side of buildings just for the excitement of it.

inFamous 2

Despite its platform exclusivity, inFamous became the more popular and appreciated open-world superhero game, virtually inextricably linked to Prototype. inFamous 2 improved on the previous game by correcting several flaws and significantly raising the stakes, so much so that its PS4 counterpart isn’t even as enjoyable. inFamous 2 had the karma system, which has regrettably been taken out of game design, and enabled you to be either the villain or hero of New Marais. To enjoy the time, inFamous 2 is worthwhile to play since, despite its age, it still stands up pretty darn well.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is a game in which you embody all it means to be an exemplary leader, including all of your doubts and fears. You play as Star-Lord, the commander of a Guardians of the Galaxy squad that has just recently begun working together. They’re still figuring out how to work as a team and as an adopted family. It puts you in a terrific position as a player, allowing you to learn as much as Star-Lord does about each of these people.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Mile Morales is an action-adventure sandbox game in the vein of Insomniac’s Peter Parker-inspired superhero adventure, in which the titular protagonist attempts to save his hometown of Harlem from the nefarious Roxxon Energy Corporation and the Tinkerer’s high-tech criminal army, The Underground. Miles, of course, appears throughout Spider-Man: Homecoming, but here we get to learn more about his personality and his new combat talents.  Regardless of identical gameplay, the game stands on its own since the plot is different, and there are plenty of new powers, unlocked suits, and other elements.

While gamers are often either fighting game lovers or not at all interested in them, this is one of the fighting games that those who aren’t fans of the genre could nevertheless enjoy. Rather than merely being a love letter to the iconic vigilante, Arkham Asylum is a seamless synthesis of ideas that works beautifully.
